Save the Planet with Meat Free Mondays
2010-05-10 20:59:00
A new weekly event has been started by the infamous Paul McCartney.  In an effort to raise awareness about the cruelty to animals he has decided to start "Meat Free Monday's" Meat free Monday is a brand new marketing campaign aimed at the nation to reduce the mean consumption levels and to promote becoming a vegetarian.   Slow down climatically changes by reducing your mean consumption.  Started by Stella, Mary, and Paul McCartney in an effort to raise awareness about the environmental problems caused by meat consumption.  They are encouraging people to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions (GNG) by having oe day a week where they do not eat any meat products.  This will benefit the world in multiple ways and should be taken advantage of as soon as possible. Enjoy Meat Free Monday's - I know we will at Hass Libre :)Hass Libre Hemp Clothing
Eco-conscious Individuals For 2010 Earth Day
2010-05-07 09:10:00
Eco-conscious is a term that I've been hearing a lot lately. Specifically, people have been taking a more action-oriented approach at making this a better planet. But it's not just the efforts of large corporations and collaborative units (i.e. – Doug Band and the CGI) on issues like renewable energy, sustainable crops, and fuel emission reduction; it's actually the act of the individual that's providing for a greener future. For instance, there's been great development work on eco-gadgets, or items that allow us to do everyday tasks, while remaining safe for the environment and the user. This would include the lessened usage of batteries; one such example is a usb wireless optical mouse that feeds off a battery-less receiver. Another fine example would include green rags, which have become a hit over the past couple of years. Biodegradable and highly efficient, these can be used to clean windows, wash cars, dry hands, etc… Although, gadgets aren't the only thing that have prov

Hemp Milk vs Soy Milk vs Regular Milk
2010-03-01 23:42:00
There are many different types of milk on the market. Some people cannot tolerate one type of milk, but there is a solution. There is hemp milk, soy milk, chocolate milk, reduced fat milk, and regular milk. Each serves it specific purpose and each has its benefits. Most have heard of the types of milk listed above, except for hemp milk. Hemp milk is created from hemp seed, grown from the plant cannabis. The hemp seeds are deeply soaked and ground in water, creating a naturally tasty beverage. This nutty, creamy beverage is delicious and great for consumption. Not only is hemp milk good for you, but it is all natural. Created from hemp seeds, a plant material, rather than from cows, hemp milk is much healthier for the body. An eight ounce serving contains 46% of the daily value of calcium, 10 essential amino acids, and a host of other vitamins that are vital to your survival. Plain organic hemp milk does not contain cholesterol, trans fats, and is free of gluten and soy.
Organic Bamboo Clothing, Best Way To Save Nature?
2010-02-16 15:04:00
Doesn’t that seem like a strange thing to say? Bamboo is a plant, after all. Making clothing with bamboo will simply add another tree to man’s murder list for nature, wouldn’t it? Well, while it is true that bamboo clothing will need bamboo plants to be used, this is one time that when even a diehard advocate of “Kill No Trees” like myself will say “yes” to utilizing bamboo for clothing. Yes, this is one time when it is really “utilization” rather than destruction. Nature friendly people do understand the concept of food chain and necessary killing; what we do not advocate is wanton destruction. In this case, since people do need clothing, and since utilizing bamboo for clothing will create less of the synthetic clothing material that is harmful to the environment, we think using more bamboo clothing is going to be very beneficial for Mother Nature. Bamboo is a very important part of nature’s greenery. It is perhaps the fastest growing plant in the world. At ove
Going Green on The Cruise
2010-02-15 01:10:00
Going on a cruise can be great fun. Imagine going on a Caribbean cruise; blue waters, clear, unpolluted sky, and a beautiful coast with white sands.   Now imagine plastic, hundreds of dirty, wrinkled plastic wrappers, bags, cups, packets, satchels, plastic hardware, broken computer monitors, and other pollutants strewn all over those pristine sands. Imagine plastic floating in the clear water, oozing dirty, slimy material, bloated dead fish crawling in the dark, smelly water.  How would you like your Caribbean cruise now? What Can Pollute A Cruise Destination And while talking about plastic, let’s not forget about sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, ammonia, carbon monoxide, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), ozone, Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), airborne particles, toxic metals, radioactive pollutants, food processing waste including pathogens, detergents and chemical compounds found in cosmetics products, chemical waste, and totaled cars and polythen
