I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene before all these things take place. [Mark 13:30]I have often heard people say that our days are no different that any other throughout history. Others seem to have so much invested in this world, that the thought of this world coming to an end seems to be quite disparaging to them. Others think of themselves as too smart to believe in 'silly fairytales.' The book of Revelation contains some very vivid symbolism. Many have speculated on the meanings of this rich, symbolic imagery, but to-date it's a topic which is still hotly debated.I certainly don't claim to be a prophetic scholar nor do I claim to have any credentials in the field of theology. I am simply a man who's seeking the truth and has more questions than answers. I can not pretend to know what the book of Revelations is referencing, as I have no idea what was going through the authors mind when he wrote down those visions. On the other hand, I have read this book and I pay attention to the world around me. In doing so I have noticed some interesting correlations:The book of Revelations speaks of the rise and fall of the worlds political powers. Both Revelations and Daniel use beasts to symbolise the political entities. Revelations 17 speaks of a harlot adorned in purple riding a beast. I love animals and for years I have wondered, 'do animals obtain a resurrection like people do?' Many will scoff and say 'No', but let us examine scripture to see what it says about this.In reading 1 Corinthians 15:35-44 I ran across some interesting material relating to this matter. 35 But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” 36 How foolish! Was Jesus simply a man of myth and fable, or was he more? Is it possible that Jesus was a real person who started a religious movement in the first century and was then killed by Pontius Pilate?This is an important question for many, including myself. I have often heard that, "if Jesus was real, why didn't anyone else write about him outside of the Bible?" Well, my answer to that is, they did and I will share a couple of these examples with you now!Roman historical recordsOne such example was the Roman historian and senator Cornelius Tacitus. Are we entering those times that Jesus spoke of when he said that the end times would be as the "days of Noah?" Are there any signs that are truly unique to only our time and Noah's? The scoffers will tell you that we have always had wars and famines, and this is true. So, what other activities were being undertaken during those days that would only be repeated in the end times? Well, here is something interesting to think about... 1) The Bible affirms that the book of Jasher was widely accepted and read by people in ancient biblical times (Joshua 10:13, II Samuel 1:18). 2) Jasher 4:18 records that pre-Flood mankind was “provoking the Lord to anger” by “mixing of animals of one species with the other.” These creatures were an abomination to God...a direct violation of His order that things procreate only according to their kind. 3) This is what Genesis speaks of when it says that all flesh was corrupted upon the Earth. The fallen angels had mixed with humans (Genesis 6 and
