Diet Affect Brain Function of Child
2012-04-13 03:54:00
You are probably aware that fish is considered "brain food" that can affect the cognitive function. But we're not sure how nutrition and genetics interact with each other. I have read a paper and studies claim that genes influence the way fatty acids are synthesized by a pregnant mother. These scientists have checked the variations in the fatty acid desaturase gene cluster, which is directly related in DHA synthesis from omega 3 fatty acids. The group considers taking blood samples from pregnant women who are 20 weeks and from the umbilical cord at birth. They've analyzed for the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. After conducting the study, they've found out that both the mother and the child affects the composition of fatty acids in cord blood. "Both the mother's genotype and baby's genotype equally affected levels of DHA",as they concluded.
Ginger Root Solution for Pregnant Women
2012-04-09 04:46:00
Among other herbals, ginger root is my favorite when I was pregnant. I usually use ginger root for my nausea, vomiting, and morning sickness. Indeed, the spicy root, or rhizome, of the ginger plant can either be eaten raw, powdered, which can be turned into tea, juiced, tinctured, or even candied. According to studies ginger root has been proven to effectively reduces nausea and vomiting caused by motion sickness, surgery, and morning sickness during pregnancy. What is good news is that organic ginger root is completely safe to use during pregnancy. That is why the herb is especially loved by pregnant women around the world. I do (^-^)...
Growing Up
2012-03-31 03:03:00
I know how hard it is to grow up. There's a lot of peaks one must check out on the pathway to adulthood. My daughter is growing so fast! She's now a graduate of kinder, soon to be a prep! She's getting 5 years old this coming August. As a mother, I want to give her the best. However, there are many ups and downs along her way. And it's kinda painful for us parents to see our children to be sad. It's really aching our heart inside. It's true that life is full of disappointments and one can have thousands of disappointments, big ones or little ones. Parents must be reminded to protect their children from sadness or I should say from unhappiness. We should take care our children, comfort them and give them all that will make them happy. But remember to take care also your feelings or disappointments, as it could be contagious.
Dealing With Disappointments in Life
2012-03-30 09:46:00
All of us experiences disappointments in our lives. I know how painful it is, regardless of their magnitude. But disappointment can compound into depression, which may lead to serious consequences.I hate myself when I am disappointed with my kids. It's hurting inside every time they do not meet what I am expected to see on them. Although they're still very young I know they are still learning and I need not to expect so much from them. I should adjust my expectations so that I will not be disappointed. It might make sense not to set our goals so high. On the other hand, disappointment and failure tends to build our character and patience, as long as if we allow to do so. How? Because they can teach us to win and lose with grace! Most importantly, we should go deeper with God because God never fail our heart's desire. He will never fail us. He is good all the time. And all the time God is good!

Cervical Cancer: An Introduction
2010-11-22 03:53:00
Like other cancers, cervical cancer has stages. When cervical cancer is detected before it has spread from the cervix to other parts of the body, it has much higher chances of a cure. Here are some factors that would increase the risk of developing cervical changes leading to cervical cancer:1. A personal history of precancerous changes of the cervix or cervical cancer. 2. Being infected with certain types of the human papillomavirus (HPV) or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). 3. Having a previous abnormal Pap test. 4. Starting sexual intercourse at an early age (younger than 18 years old). 5. Having three or more sex partners in a lifetime or a partner who has had multiple sex partners. 6. Having a weakened immune system. 7. Smoking. 8. Use of birth control pills (oral contraceptives) for more than 5 years.

Semen Analysis: How It Feels?
2010-09-22 00:49:00
You might want to know how it feels to do the semen analysis! Well it does not cause any discomfort to produce a semen sample, I guess. But I think, some may feel embarrassed about the method used to collect the semen sample. You can always talk to your doctor some methods to collect semen samples, specially those people in which masturbation is against religious beliefs.
What is Your Blood Type
2009-12-03 08:16:00
If you are a type A, it means that the liquid portion of your blood, called the plasma, contains antibodies against type B blood. If you are a type B, it means that your plasma contains antibodies against type A blood. If you are neither type A or B, you are type O, which means that your plasma contains antibodies against both type A and type B blood. Type O-negative blood does not have any antigens. It is called the "universal donor" type because it is compatible with any blood type. And if you have type AB blood, your plasma does not contain antibodies against either type A or type B blood. Type AB-positive blood is called the "universal recipient" type because a person who has it can receive blood of any type.Rh blood type checks for the presence (+) or absence (–) of the Rh antigen,
