How You Make Money in Forex In this part of the tutorial we will learn how we make money in forex. In the forex market, we buy or sell currencies. DSE turnover exceeds Tk 4bln

The Dhaka Stock Exchange continues to demonstrate an uptrend with the turnover exceeding the Tk 4 billion mark with more than one and half hours of trading left in the opening day of the week. Apparently pushed by a decision that banks would pump in Tk50 billion to salvage the drowning market, shares worth a total of Tk 4.03 billion changed hands by 13.24pm on Sunday with prices of 227 issues rising, 20 falling and three remaining unchanged. The general index stood at 5740.68 points gaining 195.93 points or 3.53 percent. The turnover hit the Tk 2 billion mark in only 44 minutes of trading at the opening. Many of the companies reached their highest price limits. Only five days back, on Oct 18, the turnover plummeted to Tk 2.1 billion, a state it was in nine months back. The lowest turnover recorded before that was on Jan 25, Tk 2.06 billion. BAB plans to launch Tk 50b market stabilisation fund

FE Report Private banks are planning to launch a Tk 50 billion market stabilisation fund (MSF) aimed at propping up the country's flagging stock market, an association representing the lenders announced Saturday. Members of the Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB), a platform of bank owners, will finalise the modus operandi of the proposed fund at an emergency meeting today (Sunday), its chairman Nazrul Islam Mazumdar told the FE Friday. "BAB members will sit and set the terms for launching of an asset management company (AMC), which will manage the fund. Our aim is to involve as many banks as possible and may also open the door for insurers for investing in the fund," he said. Mazumdar rejected as "speculations" that the fund would have a ceremonial launching Sunday, saying that some crucial decisions including the starting date of the AMC, its approval procedure and appointment of its officials have yet been made. Meghna Group cos to go public

Meghna Group of Industries will go public to finance its expansion plan. The $1 billion conglomerate has taken ambitious plan of setting up a number of industries, including the biggest chemical factory in the country, a condensed and a powdered milk factory, a paper mill, a salt factory and a composite hatchery. "We are thinking positively to float shares of some of our companies to finance the upcoming projects, subject to the approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)," Mostafa Kamal, chairman and managing director of Meghna Group of Industries told the FE in an interview recently. He however, said the floatation of shares by some of the companies of the conglomerate largely depends on the stable situation of the stock market. DSE rejects MI Cement listing proposal finally

FE Report The board of directors of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) formally rejected the listing proposal of MI Cement Monday. The DSE board approved the listing proposal of Salvo Chemical on the day. The company will make its debut on the stock exchange Thursday (April 21). Earlier, the listing committee of the bourse opposed the listing proposal of MI Cement as its proposal for giving compensation to the investors was inconsistent with the Company Law. Share price of MI Cement has been fixed at Tk 111.60 each under book building system against face value of Tk 10 which believed to be overpriced. The DSE turn down the listing proposal of the cement manufacturer for the second time. In both cases, MI Cement applied to the DSE offering compensation to its primary shareholders if the prices of shares fall below offer prices within six months of start of the trading. DSE listing body says no to MI Cement again

FE Report The listing committee of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Sunday once again rejected the listing proposal of MI Cement, sources said. The committee will convey its decision to the board of DSE which will take the final decision on the issue. The board is scheduled to hold its meeting very soon. According to the sources, MI Cement applied to the DSE seeking permission to be listed with the bourse offering compensation to its primary shareholders if the prices fall below offer prices within six months of start of the trading. In condition of anonymity a member of the DSE listing committee told the FE that the compensation proposal which the MI Cement made earlier was not consistent with the Company Law, so DSE rejected the proposal. "MI Cement again came up with same proposal and that's why the listing committee has refused to accept it," he added. Meanwhile, the listing committee has okayed listing proposal of Salvo Chemical.
