Just out of curiosity, I checked the differences among brain death, vegetable state, locked-in syndrome and coma. In order to understand the figure above, we need to know the definitions of “the Level of Consciousness” and “the Content of Consciousness”. The level of consciousness is related to arousal and used to determine whether or not patients are awake. Meanwhile, the content of consciousness is more related to what we mention a patient is conscious or unconscious. This might be confusing, so I will give you an example. When you sleep deeply, of course you are not awake and maybe you are dreaming. Comparing with this state, if your level of consciousness is same and your content of consciousness is higher, your new state is more close to be awake but you are not conscious much. There is a word I have really loved since I had heard. The word is “Frontier of Emerging Issue”, say in Japanese “Kadai Shenshi Koku”. Hiroshi Komiyama, the precedent president of the University of Tokyo, said Japan is one of these countries. It means that … Japan has many problems that other countries have yet to face. However, other counties are expected they will suffer from some of those problems in near future. Therefore, what we need to do is find the way to solve the problems that Japan faces now and send out this solution to the other countries to help. You are asked by a pedestrian on a road, “What time is it now?” but you don’t have a watch. What would you do? This is the story when I was in Portland, OR. It was the second or third day since I started to live in United States for studing English. That day I left my watch in my apartment. Although I really need to know the time, there was no big clock around me. There was no way to know the time. As a last resort, I asked a woman the time with my all courage I had. I can remember she was blond and beautiful and I guess she was in her mid 20th. She checked her wrist and looked like she remembered she had also left her watch somewhere same as me. Then she moved into the shocking action, at least for me. She suddenly shouted, “Hey, what time is it now? He wants know!!” I was so surprised because I had not expected at all she would do it when I asked her. But, surprising part was not over. What do you think this numbers are? Be ready to be surprised. When I knew it, I was really surprised. Those numbers are how many boars are killed in Japan as a harmful animal in each year. The first number 6 is the data in 1994. The second number 300 is in few years ago and last one 1000 is in last year. It is really easy to understand the damages to crops by boars are getting bigger and wider year after year. I knew those numbers from my ex-boss’s blog. He is a kind of educator to teach how great to stay in woods to children. Therefore, he knows many things related to nature. I used to work as a volunteer under his instruction for two months. That time was really joyful for me. I learned many things there. This cartoon is a kind of joke on this issue. The following is the explanation about this cartoon. The person in the coffin who is a Toyota owner died in an accident because of the faulty accelerator pedal. The humour comes from the fact that people who own cheap car sometimes put stickers like 'My other car's a Prsche' in their rear window as a joke. "Hunting civil servants" does not mean killing civil servants to eat them. It means that civil servants who have a hunting license. Should I mention them like “civil servants hunter” or something? Anyway, this is the article about them and what I feel. Recently, the number of civil servants with a hunting license has increased steadily especially in rural area. There are three main reasons. One reason is damages to farm-goods from wild animals such as boars, monkeys and deer. These animals come down to crop field from mountains and eat all crops they can get their hands on. In addition, the case that columns of old worth temple are damaged by them is also reported. Therefore, they need to take action against these problems promptly. Another reason is aging society. Thank you for stopping this Blog "killing two birds with one stone". The title itself does have no relationship to my purpose of this blog. I just love this sound. It has really nice sound to me. Hehe... These days, I really feel I don't have a chance to use English. Therefore, keeping expressions and vocabularies in my mind is pretty hard for me. I think the best way to improve English skill is to learn and practice English writing, speaking, reading and listening all together. I have kept doing except writing. The object of this blog is improving my english and communication skill more efficiently through writing articles in English. It might be little bit sounds selfish, isn't it? But don't worry. I also think I would like to provide you with how to write good article in English as much as I can. But, please do not thinkI am really good in English. Maybe, you are much better than I am. I already put some information about me on my profile. However, it does not give you much detail. Only about which coutnry I live, what my blood type is.... I actually think those personal infromation is important to know a person. It is sometimes right that a blood type represents characteristic. In my case, my blood type is AB. Genelally, it is said that AB's people have two faces and they are weird. Yeah, I have two faces ,so I am not good to organize my thoughts. And, of course, I am weird!! However, I also think that information is not enough to know a person. If I were you, I would think that what type of person wrote this post, what background of this person was and whether or not I could trust what he said. That is the reason I put this article "about me" on. I am now 29 year's old and from Osaka, Japan. I have a degree of computer science from the university in Osaka. After graduation I went United States to pursue a master degree in same area.
